Edwardian Door Knobs - Ebonised Bun (pair)

Very pleased to have found these door knobs and the latches that go with them. They have the authentic look and appearance of the originals, which we have just replaced, after them being there for nearly 130 years.

These have been fitted to traditional panelled doors within a Scottish tenement flat and look superb. They are also well made and I expect that they will be durable.

The only criticism I could level is that the fixing screws are of poor quality with shards of metal at the edge of the slot in them, cutting your fingers nicely if you are guiding them whilst screwing them in!

I would buy these again, they look the part and although they aren't original, it would take someone very well informed to know that.

These door knobs look really lovely and have made a real difference to my doors. They were dispatched quickly and I was kept up to date with my order.

Ordered from here as they seemed the best value. Very happy with the product, robust and with all fixings required are supplied. The screw on nature of these make them much sturdier than the simple grubs in the ones they replaced. Also, these are much cheaper than other ones available online from other stores where the price can be nearly double!

All good. Exactly as advertised. If I had a quibble it would be that the fitting screws are not crosshead and are that much more difficult to use. But that's a minor quibble only.

I ordered 1 just to be sure and happily ordered the rest. Very quickly delivered, I’m happy with the product - it fits very well the style of property from early 1900’s. good quality product.

These knobs blend in with our 1910 house original (assume!) door knobs. We bought some from a large national hardware store that were just brass but they didn't really blend in. I used the old screws, as I'd read the comments of a previous reviewer, so I had no issue with the screws hitting the lock.
Another good thing is that the knobs screw onto the spindle so that if the grub screw becomes loose, the knob won't pull off in your hand.
I actually think they're better than the originals!

These look absolutely great on our oak 4 panel doors. Really impressed with the quality and the speed of delivery. Bought a similar knob at another website to compare but the detail and the finish on these were far better. Would definitely recommend for that vintage feel to any renovation.

Who would have thought you could covert a door knob?! They are not quit the right era for my house but, regardless, they look incredibly handsome and have removed the last bit of 'cottage' from my 1928 home. I adore them! Excellent quality (as you can see from the photos on line) and easy to fit - but watch your door type - my half glazed ones mean that the best position for the knob puts it relatively close to the edge of the door and your figures end up near the frame.

The door knobs arrived promptly, are really great quality and look great. The only bugbear I would have and the reason I've gone for 4 stars is that the screws are too long, they hit the box mechanism thingy inside the door. My doors are big old ones so nice and thick so it's not because they're too thin. So that's me off to screwfix tomorrow to get 4/5mm screws instead!

I needed two pairs of these which were missing from a period house we have just moved into.
They are slightly bigger than the originals but beautifully crafted and contain a holding mechanism which is far superior.

I have been meaning to replace the existing door knobs in our Victorian house with appropriate period reproductions for years. Finally got around to it, and very pleased with the quality and style of these. Excellent value and rapid delivery as well!

Delivery was immediate next day. Very prompt. Product looked similar to how it appeared on the website. Well packaged as well. No complaints whatsoever. Only awkward moment I had was looking for two separate grub screws then it was pointed out to me by my wife that they were inside the handle !

We are renovating the family home that has been virtually untouched or modernised for about 6 generations so we needed various things to match existing as near as possible. After a great deal of online research I came across Vintage Door Knobs. I cannot recommend this company more highly, from my initial enquiry to ordering and delivery. Apart from their excellent product, the door knobs are very well made, they looks exactly like the originals we have. I'm sure you won't find anything that matches them for value/price anywhere.

My husband was skeptical that a door knob at this price would feel adequately sturdy but he was proved wrong and agreed that we should have these installed throughout our Edwardian house that we are currently renovating. They are not perfectly finished (a bit rough on the knob) but this makes them seem worn and not completely new. They do not appear to be solid brass, although I suspect if they were then the price would be higher. Shipped promptly and well packaged.

The Edwardian door knobs were shipped very promptly and well packaged. They are superb I was very impressed. Only slight criticism is the screws that come with them seemed quite soft so I changed to some of my own when fitting otherwise perfect.

This is a really good product if you are looking to achieve a period look without spending fortunes on ebony originals. Easy to fit and fully adjustable for the rim locks I have. The wood has a really nice tactile oiled (i think) finish. Very happy with them.
